2015 XV Crosstrek

Mostly stock for now. Looking to swap my Yakima crossbars for a FrontRunner rack and eventually add a lititle 1” lift with some chunkier tires on 16’s. I drive this thing 25mi to work every day so I plan to keep it modest. Low profile ditch lights are going on some time this week.

been busy with life and not getting out much but got out to do a little exploring the other week and then a week at the coast with the family . Did find out with all our stuff and 4 people in the car i still have a small amount of rubbing in the rear over big bumps, but other then that the 235s are working fine with no lift .

My 2001 Outback with 170k miles was in need of fresh front axles (torn boot on each side. Starting to click on tight turns), so I gave it a little front end resto!
Pre-loaded struts, axles, ball joints, fresh diff oil, sway bar bushings and end links.
The car drives, steers, and handles so much nicer now.

Without intending it, the front struts added 1-2" of ride height! I wasn't expecting it, so that's a guess, not an A-B measurement. Went looking at part numbers after the fact and all brands of pre-loaded struts seem to be the same between H4 and H6. So I'm guessing they just spec H6 springs for everyone?

Now that the back end of the car looks as saggy as it feels, I'll soon be doing a similar rear resto with new struts of the same (cheapo) brand.
Just to be sure I ditch the pre-runner looks, I'll be adding these 1/2" spacers from RalliTEK as well. I too dream of bigger lift kits and Insta worthy Sooby builds, but I think I'll save that for a younger H6 Outback in the future.

And here's my temporarily pre-runnered Soob doing what it loves in the Colorado mountains a couple days ago.

Just picked up this 2003 Forester, 2.5na 5 speed. ADF 2 1/2" lift, snorkel from a Pajero, 235/75r15 Couragia MTs. Custom front bumper, evap tank moved into spare tire well for more clearance. Nice enough Sony head unit with CarPlay. Originally built as a beater by a guy with 4x4 shop, then a winter driver and trail runner for the guy I got it from. It will be parts runner, winter rat, daily driver, getaway car, and maybe a toad behind the Adventure Wagon.
I was smiling all the way home, can't wait to get it dirty. Previous owner certainly did, there's mud in the left headlight housing. :D
Currently has a muffler delete, will get to that this week. So far I've just removed 7 or 8 vinyl stickers, and the nonfunctional light bar; then replaced the battery cable terminals. Lighting upgrades on the way.
If anyone has a Quality S 2" hitch for this gen they'd like to sell, please DM me!

Bone stock 2018 base model except for the 17” bronze Sparco Assetto Gara wheels and a cheapo Rola rack. We camp out of this rig and it works well. Put our snow tires on the stock wheels. 1 year and 18k miles and still love it. Averaging 25 mpg, which is par for the course with all our mountains. The T4R it replaced only got 13.

My only complaint is the carpet sucks. I wish Subaru would offer rubber floors. The wheel well covers in the rear cargo area especially suck. I have a white German Shepherd and her hair really sticks to it. It’s also not very durable. Using a rubber glove to clean the hair off also seems to take tufts of carpet too.

Here’s a nice one to inspire you (not mine), seen this week at the Toyo Tires Trailpass overland experience in Hood River, Oregon

It’s a lowered Subaru Outback with adjustable air suspension and has a working winch. Couldn’t find any more info on this tho.
