Suburban spare tire

My new Suburban has 35's. I was thinking that I would have to invest in an expensive swing away tire carrier but I jumped underneath and measured the existing space and it looks to me that it would fit a 36".
Has anyone tried carrying a 35" under their Suburban?

I had a clear view because right before I bought the Sub, the spare tire was stolen.

Could always remove one of the 35s supporting the truck and put it in the spare tire spot to see.

Check the spare tire hoist for rust while you're down there.

My hoist is actually missing so I will have to replace it and undercoat or paint the whole area first.
