After enjoying my Samurai (the silver one in post #3 of this thread) for 28 years, I finally rolled it last year, so I guess those Consumer Reports guys were right. Went up a steep hill with too much weight in the back and it went over backwards. It was a gentle roll, and the rollcage protected the 4 passengers well, but the front was pretty messed up. Rather than try to fix it or put a new body on it, I decided to look for a LWB to replace it. I finally found one in May that wasn't too rusty, and spent the summer swapping my old drivetrain onto it, making a few additional modifications as I went (i.e. rear springs up front, since I had the extra set.) She's almost done, and I'm hoping to get a couple of short runs in before winter sets in to identify any issues, but here's a pic of her sitting in the driveway:
