Well I've been lurking around for a while, it wasn't until today that I realized this site is based in Prescott, where I live, Decided to join up and post. I wheel my Samurai in the local mountains and travel to Southern California to explore the deserts and mountains there as well.

Right now the samurai is Spring over on jeep YJ springs, longer shocks and shafts. Transfer case has a 6.5-1 gearset. I run stock 3.73's in differentials and have minor mods to the stock 1.3 engine. Near future plans are the installation of Toyota PU axles with 4.10's from an 83 and ARB air lockers. The spool i have in the rear now does help quite a bit, but I'd like selectable to reduce tire wear. Skid plate, T-case cradle, Diff guards and rock sliders keep me from banging up the sheet metal and I built a swing away tire carrier for the spare and one 5 gerry can for those emergencies.

Only halfway decent shots of my current '02 Vitara JLX. 215/70/15 BFG A/Ts on Chevy Tracker 15" wheels, quick and dirty winch mount on the front with the cheap Chinese 10K winch and a pair of Hella long range lights, Sammy manual hub swap, CB radio, Ham VHF/UHF dual band radio...considerable trail "character" courtesy of the Arizona desert

All stock drivetrain (other than the hubs) and suspension for now. No plans to modify the IFS setup, but thinking about doing a SFA later down the road and swapping the motor to a GM 3800.

Dana made the compressor. It was designed for an air shift 2 speed rear end. Keeps my shot bottle full ......
