I found it online late one night, it was sitting at a auto lot in Georgia and had been imported from Austria. Lots of emails, pics, phone calls back-and-forth and I purchased it. My girlfriend and I flew to Georgia in the hopes of driving it back to Oregon over the course of five days. We made it as far as Kentucky… Long story short, rebuilt injection pump, rebuilt back axle, lots of going through, and I should have it back today with a new rear axle and ARB locker.
I believe it’s one of a kind. I think it is the only four-wheel-drive Coach built by Vario mobil. It was custom built for a gentleman in Germany during 1985-1986. The coach builder is Vario-mobil and is still in business to this day. It’s pretty cutting-edge for mid 80s. 100 gallons on board freshwater, 30 gallon onboard propane, solar panels original may I might add. Gets about 17 miles to the gallon With a 60 gallon fuel tank. Closed loop boiler heated hydronic heating system.

I don’t know if this counts , the lifted a4 and the lifted Jetta are long gone . The sprinter is still a project and I need something for daily winter duties . To pull trailers , motorcycles are not that great . Lifted touareg tdi 2011 with 32 bfg’s. Cayenne gts interior . I need to finish the rack and the lights soon

Haven't noticed an Alltrack on here yet, so here is mine. I bought it CPO a couple months ago, 2017 w/ 38K miles, black with the marakesh brown interior. I have only added a roof rack since, which I mounted a Thule Weekender to, and currently have swapped that for a Rola roof basket.

Next steps are some more aggressive tires, just struggling between going with Falken Wildpeaks on the stock 17's, or going down to 16's and Geolanders... Also planning on a lightbar mounted to the Rola roof basket with some quick disconnect wiring for when / if I want to swap it for the Thule. Maybe throw a full size spare up in the roof basket with some recovery boards.

Previous vehicle was a 2012 GTI, so I am loving the AWD and extra interior space, but missing the performance of the GTI and rowing gears with the manual. I don't see myself leaving the VW community anytime soon!

New to VW . Picked up a 1968 Doka Syncro about a month ago . Been working on it ever since Replacing all brake components including backing plates and 34 feet of hard break line. Motor will not turn over with plugs out and big wrench on front of motor?? Pulled one of the heads off today and it looks Ok inside the piston barrels . Will pull the other head tomorrow and see what's up in there , but I am pretty sure it will need new heads at the very least . I am 67 years old and this is by far the hardest project I have done . This truck must have sat out in a field ,every nut and bolt is rusted to the point a socket does not fit . and if it does not strip on the head then it just breaks off !! This includes the intake manifold bolts ! Sorry for venting on my first message ,but man this thing is tuff . As far as German engineering, who ever heard of having to remove part of the cooling system and a CV joint axle to remove the starter . Have a great day all
