Every Miles A Memory

We were out in the Airboat the other day and came around a bend pretty fast. Looked at one another and said "Did you see something off the starboard side of the boat?"

Turned around to see this pop up in our wake

Hi Pat,

I didn't see any alligators in Norway or Svalbard this summer.

I did see a couple polar bears, and I saw some grizzlies in British Columbia in Canada. But no alligators, alas.

In BC, the bears were brown

Hi,
Nice to see there is some place on this forum for photographers :D
I am not sure if it is allowed to put pictures here form outside the states but if not, just let me know and I will remove them of course.

The pictures are taken at a lake that never freezes, temperature is always 5 or 6 degrees celcius, so during the Siberian winters approximately 600 swans will gather and also a lot of other birds.
According to one of my friends who grew up there, it is also 5 or 6 degrees in summer, so to cold to swim :D

Ermine in Colorado

In mid November we took CR12 from Cotopaxi Colorado over to the lower end of South Park. Took a side trail off CR12 near the top of Stoney Face mountain and saw an ermine for the first time. First view was of it bounding across a meadow then diving into a burrow. It resurfaced and kept an eye on us. This photo was from maybe 30 feet away and has been blown up a bit so the resolution is poor.

It is a A short-tailed weasel (Mustela erminea ). The coat turns white in winter. At that point it is called an ermine.

The snow is late and his winter camouflage was not working.
