Wiring, 7 blade connector

I have decided to use a 7 pin connector to wire my modified m416 trailer. As of right now I will only be utilizing the S/T/T and marker lights. I am trying to find a pre-bundled wire set similar to the 4 wire sets you can buy almost anywhere (http://www.etrailer.com/Wiring/Optronics/A20WB.html). Am I thinking about this wrong? Do i need to run my own wires? Or do i need to run a 4 wire set up and add on to it?

I have found several "leader connectors" such as, http://www.etrailer.com/Wiring/Hopkins/H20046.html or http://www.etrailer.com/Wiring/Hopkins/H20044.html.

Thanks in advance.

I too used a junction box, which makes the wiring easier, and gives a nice troubleshooting point if you have issues down the road. I went with this setup, as it includes the plug and 6' of wire, already term anted and hooked up to the box

My trailer was already setup with a full 4 wire setup when built, so I took the existing plug, ran it to my junction box, then cut off the end and attached the 4 wires to the proper places in the junction box. I also added positive and negative wires for charging the battery in the tongue box, and once I get my axle with brakes, I'm already wires to the box, so it will just be running brake hot and ground wires to the wheels.

My suggestion would be to get one of these junction box with wire setups, and some 4 wire trailer wire to run all the lighting stuff.

I used the junction box from etrailer also. It makes things so much easier and cleaner. Also the videos they have were a huge help getting the wiring done right. Good luck with is.

I prefer heavy duty trailer connectors after breaking two of the plastic ones.

12063-01 has an open back, but they have a rubber boot to seal it, I just can't find the PN at the moment.
