FS: 1999 XR400R (Tagged and street legal) Texas $2200

Hate to do it, but interests are changing.

I've got a 1999 XR400R in adventure riding spec that I would like to sell soon.
It actually has pretty low hours for its age. It has been ridden in Mexico in last October's Mex Trek--- MUCH more fun than when I was on my XR650L!
The thing I like about the XR4 over the 650L is that it is much lighter, performs just as well on the hwy, gets better MPG, handles better, and just feels more powerful/responsive. GREAT bike.

Precautionary statement:
I own my bikes to ride them. That being said, I ride them hard but I work just as hard to maintain them. The bike is ready to go back to Mexico in a second's notice... well as soon as I get new dirt-bagz!

Has a home made dual sport kit, tail light/brake light, high and low beams, horn, no turn signals, but a set will be included.
ACERBIS tank included in price- and stock tank.
FMF Titanium exhaust- sounds great.
Renthal handlebars- Renthal grips.
Home made luggage brackets included.
Oversized foot pegs.
Newer tires- one trip to Mexico. I havent even worn out any tires on this bike yet!

The last of the bulletproof bikes. My buddy and I both ride XR400's. Oil gets changed once a year and neither have gotten anything else but tires and grips.

And can you believe I am wanting a KTM 640 Adventure??? The KTM has the rest of the stuff that the XR4 doesnt... Ability to carry a passenger, long range, powerful, electric start, awesome suspension!
But on the other side of that coin, the Honda has reliability and ease of maintenance. Like you say: oil, tires, and gasoline!

That's a great bike at a very fair price. You have to TRY to kill those things.
