2014 Tacoma Build

Previously had a 2001 XJ for the last 6 years. It was lifted with a Rubicon Express 3.5" kit with their mono-tube shocks. It was very capable but rode like ****. I was looking for something a bit more refined and wanted a like stock ride that could handle some weight for camping, crush washboard, and do some light wheeling when needed to get me to the trailhead. I ski tour and ride mountain bikes a good bit here in UT.

Started off with a 2014 Tacoma SR5, camper shell included.

Did some research and based on my findings I picked up Icon non-resi coilovers, LR UCAS, Icon 2.0 rear shocks, and a set of OME Dakar leaf springs.

Over two days I installed the setup and tried to dial in the alignment best I could. I was waiting for some 16x8 Method NV's wrapped in 285/75/16 BFG AT K02's.

Before rims and tires it looked like this.

Not sure about the rest of my plans for the rig right now. Getting it aligned at the moment and will just enjoy it for a bit before I decide if I want to modify further.

I spy a Sage fly rod case....?

Sweet platform. Where did you get that mattress? I have the same truck and setup, I have to use 2 Tri-folding camping mats. Comfortable bit a PIA to set up and break down.

What sort of voodoo are you using to levitate your sleep platform?

I couldn't find a two piece futon mattress on ikea website.

Looks like it's sitting on the wheel fenders.

Yep, Sage Rod case. Just getting into fly-fishing.

It's sitting on 2 2x6s that are in the plastic notches. Used 3/4 ply, but could feel the slightest sag. A piece of slat fencing wedges perfectly between the wheel wells and platform to support the middle. The Ikea mattress folds but is one piece. I'll try to find the one I have. It's literally a perfect fit. I think dimensions were 55.5 x 74 inches. Got the alignment done, did some slight trimming and a little massaging of fender well plastic with a heat gun. No rubbing when almost fully stuffed. My buddy Bob owns Advanced Service Auto in West Valley City and one of his techs handled the alignment and adjusting the LR UCA's, got me dialed at almost exactly 3/0/0, feels great going down the road. Pretty happy with the results so far!
