Previously had a 2001 XJ for the last 6 years. It was lifted with a Rubicon Express 3.5" kit with their mono-tube shocks. It was very capable but rode like ****. I was looking for something a bit more refined and wanted a like stock ride that could handle some weight for camping, crush washboard, and do some light wheeling when needed to get me to the trailhead. I ski tour and ride mountain bikes a good bit here in UT.
Started off with a 2014 Tacoma SR5, camper shell included.
Did some research and based on my findings I picked up Icon non-resi coilovers, LR UCAS, Icon 2.0 rear shocks, and a set of OME Dakar leaf springs.
Over two days I installed the setup and tried to dial in the alignment best I could. I was waiting for some 16x8 Method NV's wrapped in 285/75/16 BFG AT K02's.
Before rims and tires it looked like this.
After
Sleeping platform I built out
Carpeted
Picked up an Ikea futon mattressthat fit perfectly.
Storage mode
Sleeping mode
Not sure about the rest of my plans for the rig right now. Getting it aligned at the moment and will just enjoy it for a bit before I decide if I want to modify further.
